So I decided to post some of my favourite works of art. I saw this one last year in Amsterdam and it was absolutely breathtaking to see it in the flesh (canvas). I had to look at it for minutes with my jaw dropped 'cause it's SO gorgeous.

This is a much older work, but one of the first nocturnal scenes in painting. It's so radiant! had to do a paper on it in my second year, but when we went to Florence to see it, the whole capel was closed for restauration causing major sadness.

This pieta of Michelangelo is so impressing when you stand in front of it. It made me really emotional. It's so beautifull.
Sometimes I'm ashamed because I've been in contact with so much artists and still I love Michelangelo's work so much, just like every plain jane who knows fuck all about art. But he was a great, great master.

This one is gorgeous too, from Andrea del Castagno. It looks so beautifull and colourfull, and i love how the more tthan life size figures are pictured.

This is a painting from Lorenzo Monaco who is considered an International Style painter, and not Renaissance even tough he's from the late Trecento. I love the colours and it's really beautifully restaurated. I'd love to write a paper one day about the International Style and how people managed to hold on to an old style while there was a revolution going on in the art field. I do think he's already moving away from the medieval style as well tough.

I love art and I'm siked to go to Rome in january, but at the moment I'm not doing too well so I might have to cancel my trip.
