Christianity [may be] stupid...
...but the boys of Negativland are pretty damn clever. The show on Wednesday at the Great American Music Hall wasn't really a concert, but rather an onstage version of their long-running radio program, "Over The Edge".
The theme of the night's performance, "...a stereophonic look at monotheism in all its forms...", was intellectually engaging for the most part, though at times...

Q: Are we not men?
A: Perhaps not, but they were definitely Devo.
Heavier, grayer, and in once case, physically disabled (Gerald Casale was suffering from a herniated spinal disc, and thusly was strapped into a support system that looked like a futuristic torture device), the band took us all on a wonderful trip down memory lane at the Paramount Theater on Saturday evening.

I'm slowly building my bands web site. I figured I better get the media up there first. Here's one of two videos I'm putting together:

I have some live footage that I'm going to integrate into the above visuals, to make it more "relevant"...

So you're skull. When I joined SG I wanted to be Skull, but it said the name was taken. You wear the name well.

I attended the annual Dark Kabaret yesterday evening, and was thoroughly entertained, as usual. Highlights this year were Kid Beyond, whom took the human beatbox to a whole new level, and the beautiful and talented Ann Magnuson, whom I've wanted to see for years.
Also performing were the lovely burlesque gals, "The Lollies" (whom I've been fortunate enough to have seen numerous times),...

If'n you happen upon the band "Les Savy Fav" (preferably in a live venue), do yourself a favor; buy yourself a drink and hang out for the fun!
Truly too good to try and describe in a journal. A feast for the (degenerated) senses...

Well, it's been a few weeks; better warm up the ol' journal!
Tonight marks two special occasions. Firstly, I'll be checking out the Pixies reunion tour tonight in Berkeley at the Greak Theater. From everything I've read, this promises to be a good show. The last time I saw the Pixies was something like 15 years ago, and I believe they were sharing the bill...

So, I've got a short performance coming up at the end of September. I'll be one of several musicians playing 10-15 minute sets.
I'm still finalizing the tunes that I'll be performing, and trying to work out some visuals to add some visual excitement to the set (we're a 2-man band).
I've posted an MP3 and a Quicktime movie to My iDisk, if anyone...

I can't remember whether I've posted a link to any of my musical compositions here before, but, a little extra self-promotion can't hurt:

This is just a small sample of my more "electronica-ish" work...
