Last night I went to BigBabyBrooklyn's Lounge Arcade happening. I was looking forward to it - I think that "videogame" and "party" are two words that should go together more often, like "porn" and "community".
I spent most of my time playing an extremely complex fighting game on the GameCube. Later I teamed up with a cute girl to get to the third level of the deranged Playstation title Incredible Crisis. I also noticed Smurf Rescue for the ColecoVision! Leah's pissed she missed that.
Some other multiplayer games that I think would be very good at Lounge Arcade-type events:
Some variety of Bomberman (my favorite's "Mega-" for the Genesis)
Tecmo Dodge Ball (NES)
Space War & Combat (2600)
Puzzle Bobble (PSX)
I would've stayed longer, but Halcyon, the establishment hosting the event, is the dwelling of at least one cat. I've been ignoring my allergies lately (at some peril) so when they started to rear their ugly head, I vamoosed. Next time I'll be more prepared.

Last time I went I had a great time. Actually it was the first time I met the triple B. Too bad you're allergic to the kitties.. I should have warned the masses before the party!
