A good class last night. Our scene is coming along nicely; apparently, we're coming across as multilayered characters. Though at last rehearsal we kept bursting into laughter. Which is forgivable (to a certain degree) in a comedy, but somewhat creepy when you're delivering lines like "So you did rape her."
As dark as our scene is, two other actors are doing one wherein one of them has just buried her baby alive. I mean... fuck. Right? I've seen these girls perform the scene twice, and they've barely breached the surface of how fucked up their scene is. (The writing doesn't help: there's no "oh god what did you do?" types of lines) I'm eager to see where they go with it.
My Scene Study teacher had some spare tickets to I Am My Own Wife. So it looks like I'll be taking in a Broadway show tonight. Nice.
I just downloaded an mp3 from salon.com. It is by Nina Nastasia. I realize somebody recommended this artist to me in the past. Was it you?
