It seems to me that everyone is given a label these days, primarily by those who fear what they stand for. We are all so locked into the perception of our version of normal, that we use these labels to pin to another human being as if it was a curse that they are supposed to wear. Make no mistakes, labels are an indication of a person's fear of your individuality. When we wear those labels willingly, we either do it out of defiance or in an attempt to group our own identity. In the end, what do labels do other than divide us as human beings. I wear one label, that is the name that my mother gave me. Each time I shun a label, I embrace all part of my true self. To refuse to label yourself, or accept the labels that others try to place onto you, is a proud exclamation that "I, as a human, refuse to be changed. I reject your social norms, and I embrace mine. I live by my code, and I will be proud to live by that code."
In other words, when someone tries to label you...tell them to shove it, then look in the mirror and be proud of who you have become.
