So I'm a new member here (under 1 week). Great site, loving it. However, as good as it is, I feel the need to join yet ANOTHER specialized group. Initiation begins tomorrow!
Tomorrow, post work, starts my vacation. The plan is to head to SGSF central to hang out with ThatMikeGuy for the week. It's going to be a solo motorcycle ride on the cruiser (VTX1800c). And for my ride, I'm going to work on joining the ranks of the IBA. That's the Iron Butt Association. It's a select group who's members include people who, at a MINIMUM, are willing to ride 1,000 miles on their motorcycles in a 24 hour time span. As a broad overview, that's all it takes. However, in reality, it also takes LOTS of documentation. An eye witness at the start of your ride. An eye witness at the end of your ride. Receipts and notes on every single gas stop, and notes on any stop longer than 20 minutes. I'll submit all my info, which will be reviewed by TOP SECRET members of the IBA to determine my worthiness into the guild
I'll officially end my IBA ride about 30 miles West of Reno. That leave me with about 3 hours of riding left to San Francisco. Total distance and time (as estimated from Mapquest) 1,261 miles and 19 hours.
