Okay, so it's the day before Thanksgiving. Time for all kinds of craziness to descend.
My parents are coming down to stay with me while my sister and her family are coming down from PA to stay with my sister across town. Counting girlfriends of the nephews, we'll be 14. And everyone is staying through Sunday - Oi vey! Hopefully we won't all kill each other.
It's always an interesting experience since the sister cooking has no concept of organization or timing. Of course, it seems my dad and I are the only ones with any real common sense or organization, not that we get to have input into how things operate.
I'm sure there will be tons of craziness, especially on Black Friday. But, we should have a few good times catching up the nieces/nephews that have just started college. I'm interested to see how they are managing now that they are on their own. I'm sure it will remind me of how I "knew best" when I was that age - lol. We'll also have time to play some card games and board games. That's always a good time, provided my brother-in-law can keep his a-hole comments and ultra competitive nature in check. Usually he either rubs it in your face that he "crushed" you (even if only by a point) or he gets all huffy and stomps off 'cause he lost. I swear he gets worse every year. Fingers crossed.
But, I suppose that's what Thanksgiving is all about. I'm sure there will be a few verbal brawls, but all-in-all we'll remember the time as a positive experience. Then it's prep for Christmas. Ugh, the end of the year is already getting filled up with activities.
The last six weeks of the year is always crazy busy, but it seems that everything has been go go go since about the beginning of June. Phew, I'm looking forward to Jan when things can - hopefully - calm down, and I can catch my breath.
