Am I the only one who spoons hot chocolate powder into their mouth? Eat a spoonful of butter? Iced tea crystals? Jello powder? Yeah? Okay, cool. I'll be over here in the corner with my butter dish and canister of hot chocolate powder..... ✌

Omg! Dude I thought I was the only one!😂 anyone whose ever seen me do it thinks I'm crazy. I take spoonfuls and then dip it into hot water so the top of the mound of powder gets likr a choclatey coating and then the inside is powder still. So good  lol
jackbrown:
not the butter (peanut butter, yes) but I've been guilty of the others plenty of times. also Tang and premixed Kool-Aid

So this blog has been loooong overdue and I'm very stoked to finally find some time and update you all on the whirlwind that has been my life! I haven't really written a proper blog in ages so be prepared for a serious update...(this is going to be done in parts cause I have a tendency to ramble and there's just so much to talk

I haven't written a music blog since January and I've been feeling mega guilty about it. Work is all too consuming and on my days off I'd rather spend my time making music, disconnecting myself from the general madness that is life, and learning to enjoy my time alone, away from social media and focusing on being present with myself (and my cat).

BUT, here...

that Ray record gets better and better with each listen. I was expecting something along the lines of Chuck Ragan or Tim Barry (whom I love more than anything)'s solo records and thinking that he might lean towards country-ish stuff but I was super stoked to see he went more of the Kepi route, and brought Kody along to boot!

Yazoo were Vince Clarke and Alison 'Alf' Moyet. Clarke had left Depeche Mode in the early part of 1982, as he was not keen on playing live. After a few months of doing mainly studio work for other people, he put an ad in a music paper, requesting a 'Rootsy Blues singer' to collaborate on a project. One person who answered was Alison Moyet, from Basildon, Essex, which was where Clarke was from. He had seen her before, singing locally, and liked her style. She also played Saxophone and Piano. She auditioned, and got the gig. Their first single, released in 1982, was 'Only You'/'Situation' 'Situation' was a dance track, which was released in America as a single in it's own right, extended and remixed by Francois Kevorkian. It was released under the band name of 'Yaz', so as not to be confused with the output of the American Yazoo record label. Yazoo were a success from the start, but not very prolific - four singles, and two albums. Then, when they had got really big - they split, the cause being basically, the introvert Clarke, and the extrovert Moyet drifting apart. No real animosity, but Moyet rather liked Clarke, but Clarke would rather be working in his studio, alone. Moyet once said that she would have "liked to have known Clarke better... maybe a lot better".

This year I entered the Secret Santa gift exchange among Hopefuls and received the most thoughtful and perfect gifts!

The ever so lovely @cattleya sent me some glittery peppermint bath salts, amazing candles with abalone shells as their vessel, and a beeeeautiful turquoise necklace! Even though we have never met, it's like she knew me completely! My heart grew ten sizes!

Thank you oh so...

In no particular order, I present to you my favourite albums of 2015. These were the ones that were constantly on repeat on my work/home commute, I listened to for days on end, belted out in the shower, etc. Some of these were also ones that took me awhile to get into, but once I did I was so unbelievably stoked on them. I hope...

That's a crackin' tune.  Sounds like surf music meets psycho rockabilly.  I'll have to check this group out further.

Since I was about 10 or so my life has been one crazy, supernatural rollercoaster. Both my mother and I are pretty in-tune to our environments, including those that are paranormal, which we have learned to accept and are not so creeped out by it anymore. I could tell you a million weird incidents that have happened but I'll stick to the one that is...
