This evening has taken a very surreal twist...

Soulshaker is currently sitting about 5 metres away from me blasting Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton out of her laptop. A few minutes ago it was The Bellamy Brothers "Redneck Girl"

She's gone all COUNTRY!!! eeek

Oh boy, now it's WORKIN NINE TO FIVE...

Shoot me...
soulshaker:
it's less than 5 metres...

Hi HeathenUK

Your application for the group Sick Humour has been declined.

The reason for this could be that there is already a group that covers the topic you proposed, or that it wasn't considered suitable for the site.

SuicideGirls

Ah man, I was declined again.

I don't think it's unsuitable. I explained my reasons in my group application, and can't be bothered to...

Maybe their afraid it might be some rabid tread full of rasist/cripple jokes lol biggrin
I can't believe a humour group is private wtf? the only ones I've come across were the animal rights group (which is now open) and the conservatives group (their active thread was "no you cannot join" as well whatever )
You could always pitch a straight "humour" thread and had a sick jokes section smile
cheappearls:
Aw that sucks. Maybe you should ask them if your group idea fell into the former or the latter, because seeing as there's a Rigor Mortis group I doubt a sick humor group would be inappropriate/unsuitable but ya never know. If it's the former, you can ask which groups and there ya go. biggrin

A couple of weeks ago I posted a blog saying that I felt like I needed to do a bit of soulsearching.

I'm skeptical and I take a lot of pride in that. Critical thinking IS important, and I'm passionate about it. I can't bear the thought that my reluctance to speak out about something may cause somebody to go on to make a bad...

In general I think most people avoid critical thinking because it takes too much effort and would rather just be spoon-fed info from the TV. I've really only "come out" as an atheist in the past few years because I wanted to avoid the sort of conflicts it may bring with people I know but the older I get the more I want to express my opinions. Might not make me any new friends though.
kittyvalentine:
Hah. At least you make an effort with people I just have this terrible arrogant side that points out the flaws in people's beliefs and justify it by telling myself that if it were any other matter they had not thought through entirely logically/rationally then I'd be right to point out the flaws. Ho hum...

Saying that, it's not like I'm trying to convert them. More than anything I just like knowing people have thought about their decisions thoroughly and have a good reason to believe what they do.

Yeah, I still sound like an arrogant prick. x

I'll start this post with a quote from somebody for whom I have a great deal of admiration and respect.

I have avoided positioning myself squarely as an anti-psychic debunker. Life is too short. Perhaps I don't really care quite enough about the issue. I may not like what people like [Derek] Acorah do, I may even get heated on the topic if you get...

I hope I didn't disappoint you too much. I know the paint of having your hopes dashed. :p

Ahh well, as long as something as innocent as mascara prooves a distrction from your soul-searching long enough to make you laugh, that's great. smile Damm January, always has that effect of making you question everything.

New year has always been a bit of a funny one for me. I've always wondered... what exactly are we celebrating? A change of number on the calendar? Nothing really happens! It's not like Christmas, where traditionally we exchange gifts and spend time with family, etc. Instead we go out at night and get absolutely shitfaced, cheer loudly when the clock ticks through midnight, send...

madviking:
Happy belated birthday! smile From your blog it sounds like you have a lot of good plans for 2009, I hope they all work out for you.

I meant to send you the message my nieces put on my X-mas gift:

"Uncle Kevin-Kevin
Don't believe in heaven."

Thought you would appreciate it. I laughed my ass off and kept it on my cork message board.

Was it a Rydell appreciation group? biggrin

I think theres pollitics behind who gets to have a group. I know a dude that wanted to start a beatles group but they turned him down due to lack of interest. Riiiiight. There's a Nero group with less than 20 people in it but there wouldn't be enough people in a beatles group.

I haven't done this for such a long long time, but today I'm gonna be taking my guitar into town, picking a spot on the street, and singing to all the last-minute christmas-shoppers. I'm no stranger to it - it used to be my full-time job - but it really has been a loooong time! So we'll see how it goes!

If you walk past...

Fortunately, yes I am, hahaha.

I havent talked to you in what seems like ages! How the hell have you been? Merry Christmas, although youre not very religious, in which case I offer you these tidings:

I hope that brings you some laughs, haha. And you and I think alike, because Im going to play for Christmas shoppers as well today after having dinner with my family. I think I will play my Christmas rendition of Guns n Roses Civl War today, hahaha. If you want a real crowd pleaser, I totally recommend learning how to play "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry. I would say play it in front of a church, but theyll probably stab you before they give you any money, haha. All the more reason to tick them off, I supposed. Hell, that sounds like something I would do.

Have a good one man! Good luck hustling. tongue

Thanks again. As for the tattoo, I'm stoked beyond belief. I already have an idea of how I want it to look, so I'm going to show my friend and see what he says. The only problem I have with my tattoo is that I don't know if I want it to wrap around into my inner bicep completely. I know I want it on my tricep on the back of my arm, but I don't know where else to go with it. Eh, we'll see what I can get for the amount I'm going to pay and we'll go from there. tongue

As for going out into the streets, I ended up running around to every house I've possibly ever been to in my life, and holy hell am I beat. I literally just walked in the door. I drank more kinds of liquor today than I can care to think about, but I'm not complaining. Got a Christmas smoke from my friend when I stopped by his pad, all went well. So now I'm just recovering.

I totally feel you on staying out late. It's a lovely 39 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celcius) right now, so it's freezing in SoCal right now. I should KO now, so I think I'm gonna'. Hope you turned around some money tonight.

Merry Christmas, man. Night.
