I've been reading the Eddas for a couple years now it's not something that you can take and sit on a quite afternoon and read. To those that don't know what it is it's a collection of myths or stories of old norse mythology. ... ha and you thought I was dumb..... lol
Sjofn is a goddess of love one of many, she was greatly concerned with turning the minds of both men and women to love. But it was the love that leads to relationships and commitment.
She also dealt with the consciousness, intuition and emotion as well as the intellectual processes.
She dealt with such a strong love to inspire in the minds of men and women. This is the basis of society of humanity itself, without it the worlds of order would fall back into chaos.
She was very plain for being a love goddess , audburn hair (like mine) or plain brown hair she is the goddess for all, rich poor, ugly and beautiful ,foolish and wise......
I just thought that was more fitting, of me I don't judge and I don't care who you are I'm friends with all.
I'm getting ready for Easter on this Sunday for my little one though we do 2 Easters, in my religion, which I don't think I ever shared with you I celebrate Ostra- which is on March 21 or around that time, it's when day and night are equal, we do the whole egg coloring thing have some twisted bread and sweat cakes served at dusk and surround ourselves with flowers. I believe that the wild hunt comes back as well...lol which is alot to explain I know .
I won't call myself a witch or a wiccan or a pagan, though I might use it so people can understand when they ask me, about my beliefs.. My Great Grandmother and her funny little accent always talked about Haliarunos wise women of the tribes, or a Heidr, which are cunning -women of the mystic's. (I guessed at spelling)
lol okay maybe I should stop, but this easter, is for my daughter, and for me so I can watch her find eggs and give her a hug and kiss so I can be with love one's and my family. I still believe in what I do but I can mingle with the best of them
