Post X-mas Reflection
I Find Christmas is much more enjoyable when you spend it whit those you truly love and not those that you are obligated to see. This year was bogged down by family politics and grudges, not at all the love and closeness one should feel this time of year.
Luckily Blue and I were able to spend Christmas eve alone. We exchanged the meager gifts we had gotten one another. The budget was low this year but the love was there. We watched Christmas shows that we had DVR'ed over the last few weeks and cuddled up on the couch.
That's how I will remember Christmas this year, and not at all how we spent Christmas day.
We were basically forced and guilted into go to Blue's half brother's house for Christmas dinner because of the bowl up that happened with her mom and her half brother at family Thanksgiving. (which thankfully we didn't have to witness, because we couldn't make it this year).
The argument as it stands is this: Blue's half brother Earl blames Blue's mom for braking up his family and stealing his father away. Even if this was the case (and I don't think it is), this all happen over 35 years ago. So why the hell is it such an issue now!?! ? Well you see boys and girls, it's all because Earl thinks his wife cheated on him but they are all pretending it didn't happen so instead of solving his problems with his wife he need to dig up long dead arguments so he has someone to direct his anger at.
So the task fell upon us to play peace ambassadors and go over to Earl's house for Christmas dinner.
FUN!!!
