So my Victorian curly falls have arrived, I tried them on and the desired creepy effect was even more creepy than expected which is nice, now to find the dolly eyelashes, and I'm expecting my parasol anyday, which is double nice.
Today was another lackluster St. Pat's but I've never been much of a reveller as I'm not really Catholic or Irish just by marriage. I do like beer though...
I've generally kind of learned to hate this day because it makes juno106 cranky that he doesn't live in Chicago. Well I'm sorry I can't dye the Puget Sound green and put on a bloody parade, (all I have is a small plaster statue of St Patrick because he's used in voodoo rituals to symbolize the serpent god Dambala and I put him on top of the telly on St. Pats...and drink a bit of beer and that's about it) But yeah, Claddagh wedding ring, Adopted Irish American Family and eternity knot engagement pendant and many Catholic friends notwithstanding this is my version of the Holy Mother... :

Yep I was raised C of E... there's no changing that...

Another Holy Mother is Miss Bastet The Egyptian Cat Goddess of Happiness and Prosperity, and Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. But I think that's more of an archetype thing...

But then there's this lady who is actually a living saint. She sleeps two hours a night and tours the world establishing medical schools and hospitals as well as ashrams, and she sits for hours talking intricate philosophies to anyone that will listen and she gives the most amazing cleansing hugs in the world. Mata Amritananda or Ammachi, or simply Amma, she is awesome just filled with love.

I think she is the most beautiful lady in the world. Her face instantly comforts me. She is the perfect example of beauty on the inside that radiates. When I feel at my worst I just find her picture and words. She's always touring the world, that photo was taken in Seattle. Unfortunately I couldn't go to see her and get a hug from her and make an offering because of my stupid job at the time. But she loves Seattle so I'll see her next time without interruption.

Sorry about my weird rambling, I've been taking meds that I was unaware had caffine in them, so I had a bit of a breakdown and now my temperature is out of control and and I'm really illin'. Those of you that have read Drawing Blood will understand, I'm like Zach, caffine is like poison to me. But at least juno106 finally looked at the ingredients and alerted me to the situation. So I'm on the mend, but still feel like I been hit by a red lorry and then a yellow lorry.... Ack...
Peas,
The Ailing SisterVanian

P.S. Thanks again Jazz for drawing such a lovely portrait! That really made my week! *hugs* I owe ya! kiss

i adore the idea of a disco ball table! i think it's a super super idea! when you get it finished, i want to see what it looks like. i watch a lot of home and garden network, so i am pretty into decor myself....although living with my parents is somewhat stifling to my creative juices as is my total abject lack of cash to buy pretty things for my living space!

sorry to hear that you're feeling ill! i don't like that, not one bit. hopefully, you'll be back to shape in no time at all.

love to you!

p.s. i loved your tribute to david vanian---particualrly the first picture! love
