Your message from the universe today is:

Ace of Pentacles: "A lush tree bears a fantastic fruit - a single golden pentacle. It is decorated with symbols of the lotus and the five-pointed star. Meanings: The purest evocation of prosperity, fertility, and generosity. The beginning of a new phase of life that promises all of these things."

I can deal with that! smile

Hope Marvin feels better. It's not fun having sick kitties.

When I first say this I though it said Ace of Tentacles. That brought all kinds of Japanese Animation flashbacks.

Gack! Late again. Your tarot card for today:

King of Staves. "Regal, expansive, and energizing, the King of Staves is the epitome of the sun's power. He has the ability to inspire others to grow because of his enthusiasm. Meanings: Dynamic, stable enthusiasm. Mastery over business ventures. The ability to bring ideas to fruition."

Another good sun-related card for Summer Solstice!

The coven had a...

As usual, way way behind. Sorry about that! We'll keep using the Goddess Tarot for this week, since I didn't finish up last week. So, our card for today is:

XIX - The Sun (The Zorya), reversed: "In Russian mythology, the three Zorya are goddesses-attendants to the sun god. As well as bringing warmth and light to the world, the sun represents the brightness of...

I really wish I had remembered a friend of V's was on here when I aired some dirty laundry...

There are a lot of circumstances that led to her doing what she did, and I understand. To a point.

I know she feels really awkward now as far as coming to class. Which makes me sad.

Basically, I don't remember what reason she initially gave me for doing what she did. The solid fact was that she thought she was pregnant. She didn't tell me, and we'd been quite distant the weeks before. So, instead of talking to me, she did that thinking she'd find something in my email and SG account that she wouldn't be finding elsewhere. She was scared.

I'd be lying if I said I was over it. It still hurts. But, I don't blame her. She was freaked out. If I was in her shoes I would be freaked out too.

So, that's that.

Today's tarot card:

Six of Pentacles, reversed: "The richly dressed woman decides to help the two beggars. She is so wealthy that giving only adds to her prosperity. Reversed: Jealousy or envy from those less fortunate. Need for appreciation."

If you receive good fortune, don't shove it in people's faces. They will tend to resent it. If you feel the need for appreciation, find some...

I was reading the "what's the most disturbing movie you've ever watched" thread, and I was tempted to comment but I don't feel like being called "judgemental", "candy-ass", "weak" or whatever. So I'll just vent here.

What I found fascinating was that most of the replies ran along these lines:

"Oh my god, that movie was so sick! So disgusting! Vile, reprehensible, horrible! I couldn't...

I think you'll enjoy it. I had the "old clothes" the first time, but they subbed the picadillo (my preference) for the shredded. They don't allow subs anymore. But it was one of the best dishes I've EVER had. I do want to try it again with the shredded beef. This time I had the pepper pot stew. Not nearly as good, but very tasty compared to common fare. The empanadas (calzonish things) are very good. Here's the citysearch profile if you haven't seen it.

We recently ate at Clarklewis. I recommend it as well. Or Oba, Fife, 3 Doors Down, Bugatti's in West Linn, Lauro Kitchen, Amadeus, Castagna, Wildwood, Pazzo, or Mint. Those have all been very good to exceptional. I think we're going to go to Acadia for my birthday this year. yum...

Our tarot card for today is:

IV - Power (aka The Chariot) - Freyja (associated with the Suit of Staves): "Freyja, the Norse goddess of creativity, love and beauty, shows that true power lies in the ability to discriminate between aggression and passivity - and the ability to choose between them at the right time. The ability to use power wisely. Awareness of one's power....

We are now official members of the Alberta Co-op! And we bought 114 records at the garage sale; 50 cents each. Are we nuts? Yes. Film at 11. (If you remember when TV stations used to say that, you're OLD.) biggrin

Marvin is fine now. We bought him some catnip at the co-op and he got completely stoned. I think he's starting to come down now....

Whoa, I'm way behind. Your tarot card for what's left of the day is:

XX - The Aeon. "A youth standing inside an egg is cracking the shell to free himself. The youth is standing upon a ying/yang sign, within a triax. The coin to the right of the youth indicates the old Picean age, with its seven rays, that is coming to its close....
