OK, the only thing worse than listening to Bob Dylan, drunk, at 4:30 in the morning is listening to Leonard Cohen, drunk, at 4:30 in the morning. How very depressing and yet comfortably numb at the same time.
Pretty cool night, actually. I got called off of work (my secret demons did my bidding) and instead of being a tard and trying to get someone to give me their shift, I took the night off; so rare for me. Harland Williams was playing at the Ontario Improv. I love that little fella. I forgot the opener's name, but he was hilarious, too.
The polite "meet and greet", I used to work there, was kind of nice as well. Nice to see old faces. Plus it's great when the bartender remembers what an alcoholic you are and tries to see if she can break you. Maker's Mark tonight. I like it...I like it a lot.
OK, this sucks. Harry Connick is on now. This is what a guy has to listen to when he has no Sinatra on CD. Not that I have that much Rat Pack on vinyl either, but Scooter Pants gots to get him some new CDs.
It's times like these that I miss Vegas. They cater to nocturnal people. My sleep habits have been getting worse and worse. I'd give, well, nothing, but I'd love to get to bed earlier than 7AM. There's very little to do this late. Sure, I could be productive, but what would be the point? Procrastination rules! Besides, I work better under pressure. Yeah, that's the ticket.
