Okay, so my boss and I started today off in an odd fashion. We had a big discussion about how - essentially - crappy some of the local photographers are. Back story time:
So, Friday, he held another one of his famous "photographer parties" wherein a bunch of the local photogs get to take pictures of beautiful, sweet, impressionable, naive, and just plain idiotic girls with daddy issues. Which, of course, the photographers love because they're all a bunch of really old, horny, perverts.
Honestly, they all sort of irritate me. The men are all just disgusting. They purposely take advantage of these girls just so they can see their bits. Which, don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly impressed by the astounding lack of intelligence in our local community. Hell, these girls are all of age, technically speaking. They just happen to be completely ignorant when it comes to ACTUAL talent. Granted, I am by NO means a perfect example of local talent. There are a lot of models in the area that are far more beautiful and infinitely more qualified for anything than I am.
How-evah!!! I AM qualified to be completely and thoroughly disgusted by their antics. They think they're so slick, but they're just disgusting. They tell these girls that they can be "professional" models if they pose nude; but honestly, with their so-called "quality" of work, they do more harm to the girls' names than anything. Nobody serious wants to work with these girls after they've shot with these particular photographers.
Ugh.... I cannot even really begin to express my truest, deepest, most heartfelt despair for what it is that these "men" are doing to these young girls.
So. Back to what I was saying. Boss and I got into this big argument over whether or not what they're doing is wrong. He pretty much thinks that I sound "Bitter and angry". I say I'm just - oh, I don't know - actually using my god-given intelligence. Go figure. Excuse me if I'm a little offended by the idea of these 50+ year old men taking nude pictures of 18-21 year old girls under false pretenses.
I'll say this. I'm glad my boss isn't as into this as the others. However, he doesn't see anything wrong with it, so - to me - its a bit of the "Guilty by association" thing. He doesn't want to make the point that this is all really sick of them. He'd much rather just let it continue on as "harmless fun". ... Ugh.
