so i find out this guy i went to high school with just died in afganastan when his copter was shot down by an rpg. its all here , now whats sad is how much i didn't like this kid and how he's dead and all i can do is make jokes with my friends even if he is a fellow soldier. am i a jerk?

No, I make fun of dead people too. Besides when someone is gone all you have is memories and stories of them, no matter what kind of memories or stories they are.
