For an official end to the winky-cutting rant, here's some Wikipedia info. Seems like it used to be more of a common practice in other countries than I thought, but like northern12 said, it was probably a generational thing, and I'm betting it was because of the (now disproved) study that came out advocating it for health reasons.
Anyway, it's almost FRIIIIDAY!!!
This week has gone on far too long. I had to work late last night to fill in for some lady who "got sick" and left early, then when I came home I had to write out and address a bunch of invitations for the sure-to-be-heinously-boring bridal shower that I have to give for someone. I can't wait till this wedding thing is over. I'm warning you all now, I am gonna need some heavy-duty partying once August 26 is over. You have no idea.
I mean the drunk-as-fuck, bras-hanging-from-the-ceiling-fan, lives-could-be-ruined-if-the-photos-get-out kind of partying.
Speaking of drunk....I sort of overheard a comment last night, it was something like "You know what happens when you put alcohol and women together." Implying that girl-on-girl lovin' is common in such a situation.
I agree, BTW, but this is coming from someone who doesn't need alcohol to instigate the girl-on-girl action.
But wonder why that is? From personal experience, it's not just to titillate the menfolk. It just seems to be a natural occurence. Throw back a couple shots, and the inner Sappho comes out of hiding.
I tend to think it's because women are the more pagan ones of the species, and when alcohol pulls back the thin veil of propriety, the hedonistic she-devil comes out. And I think our attentions fall more on other girls because it's safer, a girl won't rape you (well, most won't ) or knock you up or think you're a slut. And I also think I'm over-analyzing and I need to just shut up and enjoy what is one of life's greatest gifts.
....I can't wait to "enjoy" that gift again...as soon as humanly possible!
