We went to see V for Vendetta last night...FUCKING AWESOME.
One of the best movies to come out in the past few years. Very intelligent & thought-provoking, but fast-paced.
After Garden State, Closer, and this one, Natalie Portman has got to be the best twentysomething actress working today. Yet oddly enough, I don't find her attractive. I mean, she's beautiful, but she just doesn't do it for me. But I greatly admire her acting skills.
Alan Moore, the guy who wrote the graphic novel, got a much better deal in this film than he did in From Hell. I LOVE Johnny Depp but the movie From Hell was weak. The graphic novel was a fucking mind-blowing masterpiece, and the movie was insipid Hollywood bullshit.
Well, I have to go pick up my stupid bridesmaid's dress tomorrow (actually, it's hot--a dark red with a beaded halter top, it makes me look like the bride of Dracula or something) and M. wants to go look around some of the tattoo shops near there. I have never gotten a tattoo, but I've wanted one since I was 15 (which was more than a decade ago
) and this year I'm gonna get one. I'm not sure what I want yet, but I think I want it on the back of the neck/between the shoulder blades area, and I think there's going to be an inverted pentagram involved.
