There have been so many times recently that life really just makes me smile. It used to make me smile all the time, but then things changed. I got to that point when all of the cynicism of my youth was no longer ironic, bitter, angry, or triumphant. It just became sad. All of mans faults, all of the universes injustices, and all of my own doubt went from being badges of honor to depressing realities.

But recently Ive come to realize that for every negative aspect of reality that Id glossed over in my youth, there was at least one positive. I never appreciated the way in which a couple stared at their new child. I never saw the new hope that emerges every time a teenager gets into trouble for the first time. I never realized the immortal beauty of wasted children at a rock concert, glaring up at an idiot singer as if he/she was a god.

SO now Im starting to see it all. And once again, I think the beauty outweighs the horror. And through it all, absolutely nothing has changed in the world.

so correct. the world is the same as it has been for eons. people say: "man, the world has gotten so fucked up" but i know that it hasn't... if anything it's become slightly better. but you have to measure these things on a realistic timetable. we expect armageddon every generation. c'mon people. change takes time and in the case of humanity - it may take millions of years. shit, evolution took a while so why do we expect to create a perfect civilization in a few hundred. the beauty does outweigh the horror. and the truth of it is: subjective perception. i have decided that there is more beauty than tragedy and that is my reality. we have collectively decided our entire human reality and geographic differences are pronounced which demonstrate that we are the masters of our own destinys... choose a positive reality and make it real for you and everyone around you.

geesh. i haven't been on this site for about a month. i guess that had been building up. i hope everything's working out well for you.

People have been and shall always will be fucked in the head... only our environment is wearing thin... and we are finding other ways/things to destroy leaving nothing sacred.... even our children.
