Wow, it's been a really long time since I've been here. It wasn't intentional, that I can assure you. I went on a little escape vacation into the wilderness of upstate NY. I returned and worked on music, both writing my own record and rehearsing on someone else's project. Needless to say, I've been very busy.
I've been watching the Republican/Democratic conventions as well. I know how people can be very sensitive with your party status along with all of your political beliefs, and for the most part, I either refrain from saying anything political on here or I at least try to remain mindful of everyone's feelings. This time, I write with no prejudice. No remorse. Simply just my opinion (and please bear that in mind). Fuck the conventions. Fuck the government, and the corrupt people that we "elect" to run this country into the ground. It's all smoke and mirrors. Complete and utter bullshit. If our forefathers managed to come into our time and see the world, or at least our country as it is today, they would fall to their knees and weep.....whispering, "what have we done." This is all a circus show that is meant to entertain us. Voting? It is a sham, meant to make you believe that you have a choice in the world affairs. Wait. The voting part, it's half right. A certain percentage of the vote that the masses(YOU) cast does count towards something, but in the end the decision is made by a group of people much smaller than the U.S. population. Besides, U.S. Presidents either have to bend to the will of the lost U.S. Congress, get bribed by entities and/or people that have enough money or clout to by a country if they wished (hypocrites), or risk impeachment or worse, assassination simply for practicing what they preach.
Understand something. I would love to see things improve. I would like to believe that voting, or giving a damn about politricks is going to make a difference for my country, and in effect the world. But it won't. A perfect example was O.W.S. A valiant effort, but you all were ultimately quashed by people who have power, money, and heavier influence over everything, including the long arm of the law. It would be interesting, if law enforcement and all corporations would be able to withstand the might of millions of enraged Americans united with nothing to lose, because everything you "have and know" has been taken from you. I wonder....
In conclusion, humanity's greatest obstacle; it's greatest challenge from achieving that ever fleeing and always elusive goal of peace and advancement, is in fact, us. Genetic law within each of us dictates that, when there are no more superior beasts to slay, no threats to our existence, no greater enemies to fear, we turn on each other, because it is our nature.
