Last week was utterly wretched.
Firstly, my computer broke, I'm on the girl's computer, which is breaking.
So, I went to Marsielle yesterday to see if I could expidite the process of becoming legal here, learning that I will not be legally able towork until may, the man at the prefecture said, "Avant ca, vous etes un touriste." Lovely. So I'm going to see about doing a series of two week stages (unpaid training) at all the grastronomic restaurants in the area. Paid or not, it's valuable experience.
Moving to Engalnd this July, to Birmingham. The irony of this after all the midlands jokes I've made in my life is readily apparent. There is a one star restaurant there, and I will work there and save up as much as I can, in the hopes of spending the winter of 2009 travelling in tropical asia. Part of me feels like my time in France has been utterly wasted and I have accomplished nothing, I try to convince myself otherwise, but it's hard sometimes.
