There harvest is over early.

This is the point where you might think, knowing me, that I would panic, not knowing what to do next. Not this time!biggrin

I have a plan and have already begun to put it into effect. I am moving to the city of Aix en Provence. It is an amazing place, it looks like the best parts of Paris, but instead of drab grey all the buildings are tones of orange, sepia, ochre, pink. There are restaurats everywhere, bars everywhere and the people there are astoundingly cool. It is about as big as Portland and it has the same pace and a similer vibe. I have a home bar already, it is called the Sunset lounge. It is a filthy smokey place with a fat Morrocon bouncer, it is downstairs in what looks llike an old french dungeon it is full of smoke and they play good music. I'm going back this wensday for power rock night. They also sell their houe red wine for 1.50 euro a glass, and it isn't a horrible wine either. I met the wife of a french chef who worked at the Fat Duck for 7 years, and who is about to open a restaurant of his own in three months. I am having a stage with him soon, and this gives me three months to improve my French. I am getting a two bedroom flat with my fellow vin dange, Joe. He is a pretty English boy, a BMX rider, pothead. He is deceptively sweet, but between the two of us there are going to be so many women coming and going through that flat.wink He also has connections for many odd jobs that I can do short term for cash in hand, three days work at a time 300 euro, etc.

I cannot state again how much I love Aix. It is one of those rare places that feels like home already. I've been meeting people easily and quickly. Last night I had two dancefloor snogs with two different girls, one French, on American, in the space of two hours. I also counseled a broken hearted French boy who had just run into his ex girlfriend with a new guy. It's hard to do something as subtle as consoling when the languidge barrier is a problem, but I mangaed.

Tonight I pack up my room here, go for a swim in the lake, then I am making apearences at two barbeques. The first being the most interesting, it ios at a house where all these euro-BMX boys live, they have ramps in the backyard and they grow amazing weed. They should be astounding people to know. I am so excited for the next few weeks. It feels a bit like moving to Portland felt. I haven't had so much joy for some time!
