Beautiful People. Blog Homework 4/29/16

One of my jobs is at a gas station and I came in to clean this in the bathroom. I sprayed it down and scrubbed it but it's still stained. Still imprinted and tarnished something that could've been good. Same can be said for hate, discrimination, and prejudice; it stains what could've been good but with a few extra hands, maybe, just maybe it can be good again.

Prejudices I've faced this week? Nothing beyond the usual assumption that because I'm tan that automatically I should speak spanish. Overheard men and what they believe a woman's role should be. Seen a Blackheart Burlesque show be cancelled for some stupid legislation. Saw a video of kids flipping off and cursing at Trump supporters; the supporters responded by yelling back racial slurs to children. Children, the next generation, the ones who will be running the world after we're gone. What have we left for them and what have we taught them?

Obviously something isn't right here and I'm sure each person here sees some sort of this problem of discrimination. I don't think America is the only country full of these misguided fools. History has kept record of it that we call to feel free to be different but we don't fully accept it. Well because still society says it's okay to be different as long as it is within our guidelines of acceptable and normal. Is individuality such a problem that we must be burdened with assumption as our Scarlet Letter?

Not exactly an "A"branded on us, although in history people have done that, but we often make assumptions that lead to judgements without trying to get to know one another. When did knowing eachother become less important? Where did we stop that? Why has it really mattered how someone looks or what they do in their spare time? Why does it? It doesn't make them less capable for greatness. There is only three thing important that applies to all of us- man, woman, child, white, black, hispanic, Jewish, Muslim, Catholic, etc... it is this.

We all are born and we all die. We have the duty of filling in between that; that's called living. We should be able to do this without judgement, without persecution, because the living part is already hard enough. Seriously, we should be able to appreciate each other for the living aspect. We all face trials and victories, we fall, we get back up, we keep pressing on. We all have the same mission of trying to live this life the best that we can and that we can be happy with. Everyone is entitled to that chance so why add unneccessary pressure if we are all going for the same thing but in a way that we are satisified with.

That has always been my view on this topic; I honestly dont give a shit what you look like, I dont give a shit what you have or don't have, what can you build with your hands? Most importantly, what does your heart say about you? The heart is where the character and beauty comes from. That is where we should determine a person's worth not by their gender, race, or religion. The discrimination is just unnecessary bullshit because we all are just trying to make it through this adventure we call life. We are all human and all equally deserve to have a wonderful and fulfilling life.

So won't you help to sing? These songs of freedom? Ahhh Bob you're definitely singing to me right now!

I hope this helps my dudes and if you can get what I'm trying to say, please have yourself a couple of beers! This blog was hard for me to write!

Have a good day and if you're facing these struggles and discriminations, well, I'll just end with this, You are fucking beautiful, I'm glad you're here on this earth with me, and I definitely would love to sit and have a beer with you!
