It has been a long time since I was a full time first line center. Maybe about 7 years was the last time. I finally got to play with John on my line, we used to play on the same line in roller and street back in the day and were always separated due to our higher levels of skill. Typically we both got assigned to defense on different lines to bolster the D. John was also placed on my line as a right winger and a guy I never met before named Mark was set as my left winger. John and I were nearly in a panic when the team declared the 3 of us the first line and they were depending on us for scoring. We have played D for the past 5 or so years.
I win the faceoff, the forwards tie up theirs, and our D mishandles the puck, a winger gets lose and scores on us 20 seconds into the game. We woke up fast. A game later we win 10-5, Me 1g 1a, John 2g, Mark 1g 1a. Seems we were a top scoring line after all.
Tomorrow is another game and I'm relegated back on D and also have to keep my skill in check since it's an instructional league. Yes, yes, I'm too skilled for the league, but it's quite fun and I get to work on skills I normally don't get to.
I also have a condo meeting to attend and I may also look for a job since after 8 months of vacation, I'm bored. Probably also going to put up more sheetrock and make more than a few people faint when they see some walls in my place. Hmm, I also need gas, I have 0.4 gallons in the tank. I should hit Becky up for a massage too.
