OK. So now I may actually get to go through life without that pain which would cause me to curl up into a ball on the floor lol. I ended back in ER exactly 1month to the day after I was in last time because it just wasnt going away, the doctors and surgeons agreed that even if they didnt know what was causing it I needed to doped up and prepped for surgery so they could go in and find out that way.
Basically I have Crohns disease but a weird case of it as I have never shown any of the symptoms except for te abdominal pain and my abdominal pain was more than what most ppl get, which is why they were never able to diagnose it. Crohn's disease is an autoimmune disease, caused by the immune system attacking the gastrointestinal tract and producing inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract; it is classified as a type of inflammatory bowel disease. There appears to be a genetic link to Crohn's disease, with the highest risk occurring in individuals with siblings who have the disease. Males and females are equally affected. Smokers are three times more likely to develop Crohn's disease. [4] Crohn's disease affects between 400,000 and 600,000 people in North America.[5] Prevalence estimates for Northern Europe have ranged from 2748 per 100,000.[6] Crohn's disease tends to present initially in the teens and twenties, with another peak incidence in the fifties to seventies, although the disease can occur at any age.[1][7]
There is no known drug or surgical cure for Crohn's disease;[8] treatment options are restricted to controlling symptoms, maintaining remission and preventing relapse.
Apparently the only reason they were able to diagnose it is because they biopsied the 10in of intestine they took out of me which appeared to be the problem area. I have a few pictures of what they took out, I'll post them and gross ya'll out later.
Im hopeful that I'll be able to control it, or that it'll be atleast another 24yrs before it gets as bad and as frequent as it just was.
Anyways, Im now back home from the week long hospital stay and have midterms next week =/ . I think Im gonna have to beg my instructors to let me take em in a testing lab at the end of the week, so I can get some study time in.
Hope you're all well.
Now to go look and see what good sets came up in the last 7 or 8days
