From the band Pavement, "Elevate Me Later" off the album Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain: LA's Desert Origins. It's always been a favorite of mine. Enjoy. See ya laterz.

This song by LCD Soundsystem is a fantastic track and it's always been sad in ways to me. However, with the passing of my mother it has taken on a much sadder feel to me. This was the last concert I went to with my mother. The tour they did for this album and it was the tour that they said they were going to...

When the party in MV started (approx 4:00) I was like ‘yaaaaas’ 🎉
silentobjectorx:
Exactly!!  That scene is so nostalgic and fun for me because I remember the house parties of old and the house parties of now too haha. I love this video because it does chronical the timeline of a human's experiences in a fair and abstractly accurate way.  James Murphy and the rest of LCD Soundsystem are amazing people really. I cannot say enough good things about them!  From lyrical content, music, choice of synthesizers used (all analog haha!) and just downright amazing thought process put into their video concepts too.  A "true legend already status" for James Murphy!

I'm just going to say this now since I'll be MIA for a few days/weeks maybe even. Happy new year everyone and I hope it is good for each and every one of you that I hold dear. A lot of you have been constants in my life and I am thankful for those of you that have been so supportive during this rough patch...

Happy New Year’s Eve to you too!

I'm paraphrasing but here's quote one: Tolstoy: "The most definite form of happiness is to live for someone else." I think that's how that quote goes. I can't really remember it fully unless I nailed it, which I don't think I did. Second quote is a bit more esoteric as I cannot remember where I heard or read this one so it'll be given to...

From the ever talented Lorn (from Illinois, now in Wisconsin), the song that encapsulates every feeling or lack of feeling rather I have about this year in its sum total. From the album The Maze To Nowhere, the brief but beautifully haunting track "There Ain't Nothing It's Just Pain And Then Yer Gone." I've always liked this song due to the nature of the music...

I know, that's an ominous update title and a weird ending on the title too. To explain now for those that know about what has been happening to my mother and her battle with cirrhosis of the liver.

Saturday, at exactly 4:16 pm, Central Standard Time *US, my mother took her last breath here in her and my father's home with her loved ones around...

You're such a wonderful person and friend and deserve my love and support. I really would like to take off this pain you're feeling.

We are nearing the end phase now. The worst part, it's my mother's birthday tomorrow and it looks like she will pass tomorrow. Not cool universe, not cool at all. I'm not sure about it being tomorrow, it may be today but who knows at this point. It's not good no matter how you look at it. She's forsaken all food and water, it's been...

It hurts to read that. But you don't have to apologize. We are all human beings so sharing some pain and putting your feelings into words can heal some pain. That is why so many poets created, sometimes hard, pieces of art. I hope your mom does not feel the pain of leaving. I also hope that she will enter a better brighter future in a place and time she really likes. Keep her in your mind, keep the good moments with her alive. I think she will always stay in your heart and be at your side. When dark hours will come she can share her light our of your memory to cheer you up and bring your steps forward. Stay strong and support your dad.
silentobjectorx:
@zweitesich hey buddy, thank you for all the kind words of support and ways to "center" myself as well.  You have been one of the people on site that has been an immense help and outlet of support I've felt from members of the SG site/family.  Unfortunately, not long after posting this on the 19th, everything finally fell apart.  See the blog I just posted today to find out what all happened if you want to.  Again, thank you buddy.  You've been great and I truly appreciate all you have said and just you as well my friend.  You have made things just a little bit easier and so have others.  So again, you have my undying gratitude man.

So, things have increasingly went horribly for my family member and their health issues. I will say first to those that don't know and are wondering who the family member is, it is my mother. I need to explain some things after I explain her current condition as it effects no only her in a horribly bad way but also the other members of my...

@candytoc and @rare thank you both for your kind words.  It is what happens when you are living so I knew it would happen eventually.  I just did not expect it to be coming down so soon.  I am not really ready for when it does.  But I have been holding up and keeping positive until it does happen.  Thank you both again <3

I send you hugs from a distance ... cheer up

From the always fantastic band Grizzly Bear, off their 2006 album Yellow House, I give you the track "Knife." It's a fabulous song (since the day I first heard it when it came out) and a true classic of the genre. Enjoy and I've included the very sparse lyrics under the video so they're there if you need them. See you all again when I...
