Sometimes I like reading the missed connections on craigslist. Here's an example why:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

It was a sunny mid-March Saturday.

I was at the bus stop on 39th in SE. I was all alone.

With a slight chill in the air, I faced due North, lifted my leg, and let the accumulation of the night's intestinal gas rip through my rectum. Rectum? Damn near killed him.

I was "a gas" at the sheer volume of air stored in my colon from that night....it moved my jacket.

I paused. For what seemed like hours, was only minutes.

Then I heard the CRACK of some sound. I recognized the sound but, out of context, was confused.

It was a paper match struck from a matchbook. You, walking up from behind me, holding the lit match to my ear....just inches away.. I didn't move.

You were sitting there snugly under the covered bus stop and saw me, but I certainly did not see you.

Oh what a surprise you must have heard. It was loud. It was intentional. Fortunately, for all involved, it was not odorous.

Only seconds after the incident was aired did your bus arrive. Without saying a word, you gingerly walked onto the bus. Curiously, you looked back while the doors of the bus closed.

Looking forward to our next missed connection.

No, I was not involved in that interaction, but I do feel like it's my own perverse way of indulging some voyeuristic tendencies. For as often and as much as I feel detached from the rest of the human race, I still take some pleasure in peaking in to what others' lives are like. Plus, farts are just plain funny (and there, I admit that I have the maturity of a five year old boy).

Other stuff that I'll keep repeating for the rest of this month:
(spoilerized to spare you the agony that sometimes accompanies redundancy)
