"If you found out you only had one day to live, what would you do and what would be your last words?"

A 17 year old asked me this question yesterday. Honestly, I was so blown away by the profoundness of this question, that I had trouble giving a sensible enough answer in a timely manner. In trying to think of what I could possibly do, I had realized that I am absolutely content with my life and accomplishments. I have no disagreements that need mending, I've seen many lovely sights in this world, I've experienced and shared a love so profound that it would make most peoples head explode, I've lived a boldly and interestingly enough life, that, well, I can't think of anything else that I'd want to do. So what was my response to the question:

~Call my family, sell all of my shit, and send a check with whatever money I have to my grandparents
~Fly with my friends, cat, and brother Nick to New York
~Abduct my love for the day
~Sail around and act like Pirates (super mega bonus points if we all knew how to speak Icelandic by then)
~Eat loads of yummy vegan food, and drink LOTS of black coffee
~go to a show and dance our asses off
~end the night with all of us sitting under the stars, happily holding each other

my last words would be "I love you."

What would you do?

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

If you are wanting me to shoot a set for you, please read:

1) Please tell me if you've shot (or plan on shooting soon) with another photographer. I don't care if you have or will. It's only courteous to let me know so I know where I can put you on my prepping queue.

2) Once you have the set I prepped for you, please be conscientious about timing. I want to get paid just about as much as you do, so please don't just upload a ton of stuff in a small amount of time. If you just had a set go live (whether as a set of the day, or in member review), please wait about two months before uploading. You want to give your sets a respectable amount of time so that staff can decide whether or not they want to buy the set.

3) Come up with a creative idea/theme/outfit/location/etc.. Please! If you can't come up with one, don't be afraid to ask me. I'll come up with one for you - just give me about a week to brainstorm one up. Now this is where I don't want to sound like a dick, but I'm not going to be up to shooting something that will not be my cup of tea. I've been putting a lot of wear and tear on my camera equipment, and I am not making any money to compensate for that. If I'm shooting something that I feel passionate about, I don't care about the wear and tear i or my equipment will experience - BUT if I happen to get paid for it, that's just like, and added extra bonus.

4) If three times is not a charm, then I'm probably not the best photographer for you. If I've shot three sets for you, and none of them get picked up (ever), I'll regretfully resign from shooting SG sets you for a while (however, this does not take you out of the running for other random artsy projects... if interested). Why? If we can't do it in three sets, then I'm not doing a good enough job at capturing your beauty. Maybe someone else can...

5) Keep the drama at home or to yourself. Don't send me messages trying to instigate some drama. Aggressive/Passive-aggressive comments are not appreciated - whether they are directed towards me or any other person. Treat and respect others in the same way you would like to be treated and respected.

Despite all that I said, I still plan on shooting sets. Here's what will now be my standard plug:
Yes, I take photos.

I have tons of stuff that I shot that's sitting in Member Review. Go have a looksie, and if there is something you dig, go show it some love and support. I'll list each set here so that you can love at your own discretion:

Toxic - "katie"
Luree - Geek Out! (hopeful)
Casper - snapshots
Stellaris - Hello, Portland.
MercuryRae - Gullible (hopeful)
Fraise - Portland
Toxic - Private Dancer
Luree - Ode to Silence (hopeful)
Sorrow - Cat's Meow

You can see more photos my flickr page.

If you are a local Portland girl, or will be visiting the Portland area, AND you're wanting to be photographed, let me know. My days to shoot are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Anytime of day is fine as long as a cup of black coffee is on hand wink

This songs is playing everywhere now. I know that I'll tire of it very soon, but for now, I like it.

P.S.
Super exciting - I shot a lovely new set for Jaime. Prepping that is now underway. Tomorrow, I'm shooting the very sweet Toxic. Yay, photos!

P.P.S.
I guess my birthday is coming up. Here's to getting older!
