I feel like I have about a million things to do today, and tomorrow I'm on the road. Mostly, it's things that I "want" to get done versus "having" to get done. But it still makes me crazy.
wildswan:
That's a distinction without a difference, to me. It's all anxiety producing.

I'm glad you liked my last set, thank you! ^_^

I had a pretty glorious weekend of not doing too much at all. I mean, sure, I banged out some work and so on. But mostly, there was *relaxing.* It was the calm before the storm: the wife starts her finals prep this week. I travel this weekend and at the end of May, and I have a workshop presentation at the end of May....

I'm working from today, because I bought an external wireless hard drive (re: a "Time Capsule") to back up my hard drive on. And it's really slow backing up this shit over the wireless network. But I'm glad I'm doing it. I was doing some data work the other day, really repetitive and slow grinding that is crucial to my work, and I just had...

True fact: I do not like exercise *or* the outside. That said, I'm really jonesing for May, and when my wife is done with school for the year. When that happens, we'll start trying to get out and job in the AM a few times a week. (When she's in school - it's just too hard. She has to report for class by 8:30 in...

It's 8:30 Friday morning, I'm cooking chutney, and getting myself together to go downtown for a conference.

All right.
sockpuppet:
You make your own chutney? Sweet smile
sockpuppet:
Ah. Probably not to my taste, sadly; I am not a fan of very sweet stuff, in general.
But, kudos to you for making it anyway smile

So, we had talked about going out for sushi tonight .... but Ive got this chest cold thing that's either coming on or clearing up. It's not yet 100% obvious which way it's going to me. So we made French toast and I think we'll watch a movie later (Gone Baby Gone I think, if you're keeping score at home). So it goes. The...

I can't read Dan Simmons. I think he's the only author I've ever refused to read, for effectiveness. Powers, on the other hand... I bought The Drawing Of The Dark many years ago, and I must have read it a dozen times. I don't think he's ever matched it, TBH.

Home for Easter, having a nice time.

Important question for visiting the parents: Is it kosher to have sex in your parents' house? I tend to think no.

Long-term SO? Almost certainly.
FWB? Unlikely.
Pickup? Definitely not.

Other upcoming travel plans:

I'll be in St. Louis at the end of May. And I think we're doing New York in August.
