i'm really wiped, but instead of going to bed ... i'm tooling around on the internet. i dig my style.

i currently have the *greatest playlist every* going on the powerbook. i've entitled it: "When I was Cool, In High School" (just a note: i was NOT cool in high school - but surprise). it includes gems like:

* ready to go - republica
* angry johnny - poe
* blister in the sun - violent femmes
* hey jealousy - gin blossoms
* bakset case - green day
* blood roses - tori amos

and other assorted gems. i tried to balance the guilty pleasure with actual quality tunes. in fact, more often than not - i prefer BAD music on my ipod. i just need something i can bob my head to when i'm on the bus.

i feel like things are picking up. advisor 1 finally dropped comments off to me. he even told me to call him this weekend to talk about them if i wanted to, which was really great of him. unfortunately, i wont get them to this weekend, since i wasn't on campus today (just about the one weekday EVER that i haven't been there in the past year) to pick up the notes (oh irony...).

why not? well, i went to get my eyes examined. the exam was good ... but damn, glasses are expensive. ugh. *and* they dilated my eyes, which i had never had before. not a good experience. my eyes felt crusty and gross. i came home and just slept, since the light hurt them and i COULDN'T READ (the text just went blurry). so, i was out of comission this afternoon - and in no state to walk to campus.

however - that did NOT stop me from going out once evening rolled around!

i just got home. i'm a bit drunk - i think i drank too much actually. i'm on my own tonite, as my wife's mom is in town. so, my wife stayed in the hotel with her mom & sister, so they could hang out and do family fun. i went to dinner (pizza) with a colleague, then we hit her favorite bar. it was sort of funny, whenever i would go to the bathroom, i would come back and some dude would totally be talking her up. it must be exhausting to be an attractive woman and be out - and having to put up with random drunk guys hitting on you. so it goes. it was a good night out.

tomorrow - my family is coming to visit. i'm excited. going to show them my neighborhood and school. my sister is staying here with me tonight, and i'm going to introduce her to some of my friends tomorrow night. should be fun.
