i could really go for a brownie right about now.
"gladiator" is on. how did this movie win best picture? i mean, it's fun - but pretty ham fisted. whatever.
the quarter is nearly over. thank god.
finally, i could totally go for some good pen and paper roleplaying. i'm thinking some shadowrun would be fun. i have a good idea for a vampire character too (an okie! korean war vet! i dunno, it seems fun).
the other day, my wife and i went to see "body worlds" at the museum of science and industry. it's this great exhibit of bodies that have been - basically - turned into plastic. it's a great chance to see how our insides look - how they are similar, different, and what different conditions do to our bodies. it was beautiful and terrifying. sublime perhaps? really great. it was REALLY busy - but still very much worth seeing.
oh, and they had an exhibit on video games. i played dig dug, space invaders, an old school dune game from westwood studios, pong, virtaul figher 2, and others. i'm not sure i learned much, excpect my wife can kick my ass at fighting games. damn button mashing!
i saw a guy at the museum with an SG sweatshirt, i went up and said i liked it. he said "cheers" (which was bad ass), and then we moved on. i guess we could have traded screen names or something, but it was kinda cool as was.
all right, i'm out of here folks. it's sunday. i'm gonna look for a fucking brownie.

Yeah, I can't really say enough good things about Alexis. She's the kind of girl I would see at a show and fall in love with instantly. I guess that's kind of the idea of the site, no?
BTW, re: soldiers. I didn't mean to sound as much of a booster for the military as I perhaps did - and you're right that the whole citizen soldier ideal is now something of a joke, if it ever was an accurate image. I just wanted to point out that we don't generally think of ourselves as treating young soldiers as full adults any more than we think of ourselves as treating college students that way.
