I rewatched The Dark Knight tonight. You know what doesn't work in that movie? Batman.
It's a great movie, but Batman sure looks goofy in it. He moves in a clunky way. Christian Bale gives him that gawd awful voice. The rest of the movie just hums with energy - especially Gary Oldman and Heath Ledger. The amazing chase with the semi, Batpod, and prisoner transport stands out. But there are no real great *fight* scenes in the movie - in part, because Batman moves like a human tank. How can I believe that dude could ever sneak up on ANYONE?
I'm also rereading Batman: Year One right now .... where the costume is *clearly* some kind of cloth or wool. Would that no work in a movie? I mean, ninjas in movies look cool..... Who decided that superheroes should wear leather and plate armor? They need to pay.
