I fucking LOVE Peter Watts. I just finished off his Rifters trilogy yesterday, and it makes me giddy. I adore how he uses 1) real science, 2) doesn't punk out on his dystopia, and 2) turns mental illness into postiive (though flawed) character traits.
How can you not dig someone who makes a PowerPoint slideshow explaining the biological basis for vampires, their evolutionary history, and how we might revive them?

My eye has certainly become keener over the seasons. But I also danced a bunch as a kid, so I suppose it's ingrained in me to some level. Not everyone is an expert on everything.
