I'm going to do one of those annoying pop culture blogs that is a "list of stuff I'm enjoying right now." Just to prepare you. Because I'm a *conscientious* motherfucker like that.

The first.

We've been working our way through Bones on DVD lately. Of all the CSI-type shows out there, this is by *far* my favorite. I like that the main character is a social scientist (sort of). Also, it doesn't hurt that the show is filled with hot women. I am especially a fan of Emily Deschanel. I know everyone is all like "OMG Zooey Deschanel is the sex." But Emily does it for me more. She's like the tough older sister, who wore her hair pulled back, dressed in oversized shirts and big boots, drank beer, smoked cigarettes out back, and was always giving you shit - but who still was hot as hell. I am positive of this. I am pretty sure I also dig her because she plays someone smart on TV, and I am a sucker for that (except for House: I want him to get hit by a big bus.)

The second.

I think it should be said, that while fun, Outlander is no Highlander.

The third.

Iain M. Banks is pretty rad. So is R. Scott Bakker.

The fourth.

All-Star Superman really IS that good.

The last.

This is a real life one, and just an important observation. A sure sign you're getting old, on the eve of your 30th birthday? Sex related injuries....ow.....
