I'm ambivalent about Chicago getting the Olympics. I can see how it could do a lot of great things for the city (improving the trains, leaving some great new facilities in its wake). But I'm sure it can also fuck some shit up (like moving lots of poor people out of their current houses, screwing up current parks).
What I do want to know is: currently, for the Taste, it's a fucking bitch to come up south on Lake Shore - traffic backs up to McCormick or further. And they do this EVERY YEAR. How will they handle the influx of *thousands* of athletes, trainers, and spectators on those roads in a few years? *Especially* when there is not an el line running down the lake front?

I pray we get passed.
