Tombstone is like the greatest movie EVER.







I mean, how could it not be? Val Kilmer, Sam Elliot, Kurt Russell, Dana Delaney, Billy Zane, Powers Boothe, Jason Priestly, Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thorton, Michael Biehn, Charlton Heston, Thomas Haden Church, John Corbett, Terry O'Quinn, and Michael Rooker all are in it. Plus, *Robert Mitchum* is the narrator? It's like a character actor wet dream.

[Really, it's all about Kilmer's Doc Holliday. He's so damn cool. Though, I like Russel in almost everything too - and he's great here as the flawed but imposing Earp.]

Actually, the fact that it's as good as it is IS sort of amazing. According to IMDb, the director's other credits include Cobra and Rambo: First Blood Part II. The writer did work on Glory and The Devil's Own, though there is a Rambo: First Blood Part II credit along with one for The Mummy as well. Sometimes the stars just align I guess.
