So I need to update. But falling behind isn't my fault this time. My MacBook had to go in to the shop AGAIN. At this point, the inverter has been replaced (twice), a new LCD screen put in, the combo drive replaced, two different logic boards have been put in, a battery switch has been changed out, AND the keyboard needed to be fixed. When I raised this issue with the last "Genius" who helped me - he had the balls to get snippy. In addition, is there a more obnoxious place on Earth than the Apple store? Nothing annoys me more than the pantywaist hipster behind the counter acting like I'm imaging whatever problem my computer is having at that moment. I want to fucking hand our hair cuts every time I walk into that over-done modern art hellhole.

In other news, I went home for a few days and saw the fams. It was a great time.

I'm hard at work on my maps and such. They go well. I had a good chat with a junior faculty today, about how to organize some of my data. He's a super nice guy, who is really giving with his time (even though he's not even on my committee). He's much more useful than E, who tends to get random hairs up his ass (re: "ideas") that are really ridiculous but that he won't let drop. I mean, he's a smart guy and is giving me a lot of good stuff. But he's really beating some repetitive shit to death.
