Time for an update! Things have been busy on this end. Well, not so much busy as "vomit based." Last week, I was pretty much out all of the week with some kind of stomach *thing.* I was eating very little, and most of that was white bread, rice, and apple sauce. I was fairly pathetic. It sucked. As it is, I waste enough time not getting work done, but combined with Thanksgiving, that was basically two weeks of getting nothing done. Whatever. I'm back into it now, and I've made an outline for my first chapter (well, it's actually the 3rd chapter....but the first one I'm writing) of my dissertation. It's not really an outline though. Its more like a series of things I need to establish to prove my point. It's a *map.* Of course, before I can dig into that... I need to grade. I have twenty-seven 25 page essays to grade. Fun times for the weekend.

For some reason, this journal sounds very *frantic* to me. Anyone else catching that vibe?

So, some folks asked what my big TA sin was. OK. I'll confess, you arm twisters. A student came into get help with a paper, and at one point I *totally* snuck a peak at her cleavage. It wasn't like I *stared* or anything. I just felt pretty crummy about it. I know it's a small offense, but the vileness of the "lecherous professor" rings loud and clear in my mind and it's something that I totally want to avoid. Catholic guilt - it gets you all the time. (But actually, I'm sort of pro-Catholic guilt. I think it's kept me honest, albeit repressed. )

All right, that's off my chest. No pun intended.

Maybe I'll muster a real update over the weekend.
