So, I didn't think ALL those conferences would accept my papers.... 
Which, I mean, is a *good* problem. But now I have to write those things I thought up months ago. Um. Huh. Luckily, both of the recent papers are much more *theoretical.* The other empirical project I have is just a poster, and relies mostly on maps. So, that's not too bad. But this on top of the proposal work? Oy vey.
One bitching thing: I met with this great historian the other day, William Novak. He was *totally* into my project. Sometimes you walk in, pitch it - and the person on the other side of the desk just *gets* what you want to do and why. They start spouting off ideas and citations. It's great stuff. Best of all: I've discovered a whole LITERATURE of people talking about infrastructure. Sure, it makes my project less "fantastic and singular," but it's nice to have people to talk to (even if most of them are really, *really* old....).
