So, this is a few days late, but we're back from Madison!
The trip was really, *really* good. My wife felt super about her interview, and we got a chance to check things out in the city. We adored Madison. I didn't fall madly in love - in the sense that I am not required on a *cellular* level to relocate there. But I would not hesitate in the least if the wife decided that the University of Wisconsin was the place for her.
There are pictures.
This is the state capitol building. It's actually patterned after the Capitol in DC.
Evidently, this is where science is done. However, the smaller sign on the door said this was the home of the geography department. Which, so far as I'm concerned, is even fucking cooler.
Despite looking happy, we are fucking freezing right here. This is by the lake that the campus sits on. As other folks may know, the campus is on a lake, has hills, and lots of trees. It is *gorgeous.*
Yet another gorgeous and historical building from the campus.
Any place that has ice fishing has to pretty fucking awesome.
So yea, we had a good time. There was good food, and the town just has a nice "cosmopolitan but still rural Midwest" vibe that really suited me.
We shall see.
In other news, I've switched to Firefox and I love it. Also, I have a tooth that hurts when I chew. I'm not sure what is up with that, but a dental appointment has been arranged.
In less pleasant news, my mom is having some sort of back pain issue. She's having some tests done, and they think it's either gall bladder issues or just arthritis. Neither of which is good exactly, but hardly major. So, we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Um. Yea. That's all for now. Back later. Hope all is well out there.
