Bowling For Columbine did tend to wander a lot. But I thought that the theme was rather clear - there are entirely too many guns in this country, and it's too easy for those guns to fall into children's hands. Moore touched on other things, as well, that I felt were closely tied to the main theme. For example, the constant bombardment of fear the U.S. media pukes up for us to consume every day. I felt he tied that in nicely to gun violence in this country. And he showed just how stupid the argument that hard rock, violent video games, and violent movies are not the cause of gun violence amongst the nation's youth. No other country in the world has a problem with gun violence like ours does, and to some extent, Moore showed us why.

But having done my own reasearch after watching it (which is easy to do considering I own a bookstore), I could find no fault with Moore's facts as he presented them. However, I should mention that I am biased towards Moore's opinions, and he scores mad bonus points from me for his scathing indictments of the Dubya administraion.
His books, Stupid White Men and Dude, Where's My Country? are a bit more coherent and to the point. And he raises some very good points not only about Bush and the Republican party, but about how impotent the Democratic party is and has been for years. I read both in a day, and was left confused, angry and wanting to read more. The man has a way with words.
Of course, this is all just my opinion.
