I know exactly how the elves in LOTR felt...what with the sun setting on their life in the hard world and the coming dawn of their new life in their heaven.
Oh, so 'I, Robot':
Well, here's the thing - no new elements, no new concepts (even in the movie world), no new special effects, no new acting (on Will Smith's part at least), no new jokes, and no new terminology.
On top of that I figured out Viki was behind it all within 15 minutes...which is sad because I never figure detective movies out the first time through.
Also, it didn't keep at all to the book (it was more 'Nueromancer' meets 'Star Trek: First contact' then Asimovian) and it imitated ideas that have been in the following films to the tee:
Tron
Bladrunner
Virtuosity
Star Trek: First Contact
The Matrix
That said: It brought up many important questions that my philosophy answers fully and because of that many little youngersters that search the internet for answers (especially philosophical) about movies such as this are going to find my web page.
Which is all part of the master plan
