Keving Smith said in Dogma 'Leave it to the Catholics to end the world' or something like that.

Boy is he living in the past.

I say if the Apocalypse ever comes it's going to be a joint marketing stunt.

"Ladies and gentlemen: Welcome to Armageddon!!!

The four horsemen you see are representated today by Bill Gates, Ted Turner, Michael Eisner, and Orin Smith. The end of the world is being sponsored by Microsoft, AOL Tme Warner, Disney Corporation and Starbucks. Please give a hand for our hosts, the horsemen, and remember that drinks and food will be served in the 'Ring of Doom' all night.

Now - Let's get ready to ruuuuuuuumble!!!!!!"

I mean, and let's be honest here, what ever gets done ANYWHERE these days if someone isn't making money on it?

Our entire government is just one huge joke of economic persuasion. No crime is too big that their isn't a price tag on it, no corruption too huge that the press can't be bought off.

Just look at the last election. Look at the OJ trial.

Mark my words: If someone can benefit from the end of days then it will happen. Otherwise: don't count on it.

Death is an accountant and Satan is a stock broker. Hell is just where you go if you are bankrupt at death.

"Welcome to the afterlife, please show me your last bank stub."

Pretty soon immortality is going to be purchasible as well. Just go read about nanotechnology research.

As for AIDS: It's already been cured, the company who has the cure is just waiting until the market is ripe to cash in.

In economics there are 3 financial forces, the holy trinity: The banks, the companies, and the Government.

Oh, and in case you still haven't figured it out: God is Alan Greenspan.

Once you wrap your mind around that idea the world doesn't seem so strange at all anymore.

"Bless me father for I have sinned. It's been 39 days since my last deposite."

Why do people get so pissy about pessimism and pragmaticism?

Idealism, fundamentalism, and optimism are to blame for the worlds problems.

Optimistics made the Nuke.

Fundamentalists did 911.

Hitler was an idealist.

The philosopher's have almost all been exclusively pessimists. Most inventions are made by pragmatic thinkers. These are the kind of people who improve our world.

Optimists killed everyone on the Colombia. Optimists made the 'League of nations'. They started the peace process in Israel.

Idealists made Soviet Russia, invaded Vietnam, and started Colonialism.

Fundamentalists slaughtered over 11 million native Americans, strung up African Americans, and blow themselves up today where people eat pizza and drink coffee.
====================================
When I was young I used to want to solve the worlds problems.

I've since been off on a quest for knoweldge to try learn how to do just that.

You know those bumper stickers that day 'don't blame me, I voted for the other guy'? Mine would say 'don't blame me, I left the fucking country'.

What I've discovered on my quest is that the answers for every question you could ever ask has already been found. The problems have all been solved.

Except for one: The problem is that everyone is too lazy to care. No one has the patience to impliment the necessary laws that would lead to world peace and contentment.

And no ever will.

Jesus knew this...he said it plain as day. What everyone chose to beleive after that is a different matter entirely.

The problem is human nature. The human drive toward laziness ignorance, and selfishness can never be underestimated.

That's why capitalism is probably the best system that we will ever work out.

In a world where Linux exists and everyone still not only uses Windows but actually BUYS the piece of shit you can't really hold high hopes.

It's enough to make me wonder if someone handed out tanks for free on the street if anyone would use them if their was still a Ford dealer in town.

I'm not so much bitter toward humanity as spellbound. I'm not so much angry as in shock. I'm not so much an enlightened sage as a fully grown up hacker.

What I'm saying is: I don't so much care how moronic people are as long as I still get to use Linux myself.

Everyone else can drive a Ford and I'll just run them all over with my tank when traffic gets bad. It's ok, keep watching TV. Call me a bookworm. It's alright. Really, I don't mind.
