Ok, I usually post to my LJ, but I've been slacking on even doing that lately. I just got back from Burningman and I oddly enough, I feel like a totally different person. Less willing to be walked on by all these people that are here that are my supposed "friends". It astonishes me the lack of respect that people have for the individuals in their lives. I've ranted about this in my LJ in the past and I still just can't get over it.
Ok, back story time. I figured if I type this out once, I can just direct people here.
I leave on vacation for Burningman, but before I leave, I explicitly tell my roommate not to allow a few people into the house (I own the house, he rents a room, which he's not even doing anymore because he lost his job 2 months ago and I was just letting him float for a bit). Anyway, I'm gone not less than 24 hours and the 3 people I mainly told him to not let in are over here watching movies. I had my reasons for not allowing these individuals into my home, but he chose to just ignore those wishes. So I get back, find out all this info and make the descision to boot his ass out. Meanwhile, this other guy I know, who doesn't live here at all, was also instrumental in inviting these people into my home. Now, I really don't understand how you can invite someone into somebody else's house and assume it's all fine, especially when you know they are not welcome. So I tell him I'm not happy with him about this situation, and he fucking explodes on me and tells me it was "bullshit" of what I did, and he's not sorry at all and basically tells me to go fuck myself. Now, I'm usually a pretty reasonable guy, I try to help my friends when they are in need and let a lot of things slide, but this is just fucked up in my head. So at this point, I'm down to a very very small core group of very loyal friends and that's the way it's going to stay.
Before BM, I was rather anti-confrontational, but after I'm much more willing to step up and tell people they are fucking wrong and need to take responsibility for their own actions. I like the new me and I'm glad I have a place to rant about this shit to complete strangers
