Along time ago I was once told;
"Dream big, because life too short to waste your time with small dreams."
And when I was a child still in elementary school I did just that, I believed that I would become an architect or some sort of designer one day because I loved to draw. I pursued that goal for a long time, but life kept throwing me curve balls that I just keep swing at and missing. Kinda like like playing tennis, using a racket with no strings. every time I had the timing right I didn't have the material there to knock the ball back to the other side of the court.
Lately things are starting to feel more and more that way.... for example; here are some of the goals I had as a child....
1.) Purchase a house at age 24.
2.) Get married at age 28
3.) Become an Architect by age 30.
4.) Start my own business by age 35.
5.) Make my first million at age 40.
(This one kinda shows you that I was young and had no clue about money)
And here's the way things worked out....
1.) Purchased a house at age 24.
a.) Lost my job of 5 years at age 27.
b.) Unemployed for almost 1 year.
c.) Lost said house to foreclosure.
2.) Still single after all these years....
3.) Still a draftsmen at age 35.
4.) Started my own business at age 27.
a.) Force to make a change I had to employ myself started an S-Corp.
b.) Struggled to just make ends meet between jobs.
c.) Closed corporation at the age of 34 due to lack of business and
a business account with a negative balance.
5.) ....
I know this sounds like a "woe is me" kinda thing to post but really it is a realization that I am doing
something severely wrong and need to find a change. Maybe it was my goals or maybe it was the order of which I placed them but I have got to find out what it is and fix it soon.
