I actually agree with the judge protecting the 1st amendment. The techniques used have been proven to not work however.
The practice is sick and quite often involuntary for LGBTQ people. Families sometimes go as far as having their church abduct their child and taking them to compounds. They have no idea where they are and are forced to work, clean, and be humiliated.
