so they bestowed upon me tonight a little birthday party....twas nice, bordering on ridiculous. for exam:

my best friends mom actually asked me

" are you looking for a girlfriend?"

after a brief but vigorous laugh i responded

" no offense but that was the most inane question i've heard"

she agree'd

but now i think, am i? Really looking for a committed partnership, reaching...

Your exchange with your friend's mom sounds like the kind of conversation I might have. But, don'tcha know, it's often the most inane questions that take the most thinking about...

When I was in Sydney and told my friend Murray that what I was really looking for was a partner, he told me that he'd thought like that for a long time, but eventually come to the conclusion that, if he's been on his own for so long, it must be because, at some level, he doesn't want a partner and is quite happy on his own...

I dunno, though... I look around here, in the libraries, in the cinemas, on the street, and I see all these beautiful people who are all getting laid (oh you can tell) and participating in the great and wonderful dance of seduction and reproduction, and I feel as if, somehow, the whole giddy carousel has left me behind... and then I see these sad old men in the cinematheque who must have given up looking for any kind of intimate intercourse years ago and have simply resigned themselves to a vicarious life of movies and books and so on, and I think, is that me, is that my future? Is it, oh horror of horrors, my present?

*shudder*

So, er, anyway, I'm looking forward to that 'outsourced' blowjob!

3 consecutive sunrises sounds ambitious and reminds me of a line by Lou Reed:
'How do you think it feels
When you've been up for five days
To come down in one?'

I think he was using a lot of speed, though.

it all started with little sleep and some snow and ends with beer and no more sleep than when i started. more people met, more laughter and spectacle. yesterday i very nearly ate nothing, drank a boat of coffee and wasted my day in an introverted haze. today was very nearly the same but slightly better, as i ventured out more than once, even to...

I make others somewhat uncomfortable, but then i 'm just an observer here. I guess they just can't hack a conversation roughly concerning the loose differences between kinky, sexually deviant and deep seated psychological trauma floating to the surface in inappropriate bedroom behaviours. Or maybe it'a because i won't stop at what they think is kinky, i'll just keep talking, keep delving deeper into what...

Indeed, people avoid the topics to the Nth degree. I make others uncomfortable, including lovers, on said topics. Most are trained that you do not discuss it, even if the other person is open minded. I disagree completely, since achieving bliss and total trust can only come from honest and open lines of communication. *shrug*

I'm glad you're not scared to go those places. I'm of the opinion that you should follow an idea to the point where you are in a place where the words are no longer necessary: it's all out there.

I love you. If it makes you feel any better, I'm not getting any physical action, backdoor or otherwise. tongue I'm having an awful lot of perfectly lovely virtual with someone, but sometimes it would be nice to rub my skin against another's, you know?' robot kiss

after much lame ass connectivity issues, i'm back!!

Muauahahahahahahhaaaaa

now all i need is my pants....

---

all things taken into account, it was a good enough birthday. The most of it was lame, but also included a spat or two of hatred bordering on near homicidal lunacy. And then i fell madly, completely, adulteratedly in love with a wonderfully beautiful woman...

so bear in mind i'm in a good mood....

the lil viking in my head was, apparently, a little pissed about the shuffleboard thing so, well, he stepped up to the plate and dished out some of the strangest motivational images in some time. something you don't know? hmmmm ~ bees can sting you after they are dead. many spiders mate & kill, not just black widows. if you leave your lawn alone for 10 years you will grow a mini-deciduous forest. restrictive enzymes are used to cut dna so that you can spool it. i'm not wearing any pants. biggrin

for you for now,

spin your strings as you wish
as you will
cast your line
suffer the pricks
of thorns
of teeth
of uneven things

tear at me
with simple tongues
lash at me with soft hands
use it
lose what you have taken of it
it is free

we push at each
other the pull of
our heart
our one
breath
alone

Indeed. Good choice of hell level. It is something that makes me bonkers as well, but I have gotten much better about it. Being on the Ice, we lose 33% of our memory during the winter, so we carry these litle books called green brains. We keep them to se do not lose information...unfortunately we do not have social green brains. So you have a whole town that will ask the same questions over and over again of each other all winter long. Yep. Like the freaking twilight zone.

question for tonight...

can one truly love from afar? I.E. without the context of touch and feel, without the daily contact. and this is in the romance sort of way not the Siddartha sort of way.

I honestly don' know.
cutriver:
Answer: no.
Or, yeah, maybe.
biggrin
No, I think no. No.

Thanks for your comment which had me snickering in the internet cafe.
And, yes actually, I think I probably am going to go to Australia, as you say, just for the hell of it.
How's your 'just for the hell of it' experience working out, by the way?

Too hungover to write anymore.
*queasy*
goob:
Yes! You can love from afar. But it's harder to refresh the love and keep it real, keep it from degenerating into fantasy-love. You know- the thing that happens when the person in your head that you think you love is an idealized version of the real person you can't see.

How long have you been in Anchorage?

somebody smack me....

while it might make a fun night, a waffle, a banana, some butter, and some syrup doesn't equal a well fed day.
