and what's in a voice really. it's just sound, you can't hear it for more than a flitting moment. only quickly remember how it sounded, only to forget in favor of the next phrase. I can never authentically hear myself, and i know i hear myself better than most. it's just all empty air, moving about on strange and subtle wavelengths. it's not even particularly good for communicating, so much more can be said with expressions and actions, written words and pictures. in truth i suppose voices have a even more deceptive quality, an inherent incorrectness. and some are just so unpleasant.
so why then do some voices hold such terrible power over me. terrible in beauty, terrible in ferocity. how is it that the right things said by the right voice can change the rest of your life. my life. our life.

and once again i've made myself so hungry as to feel like puking. gee and i've only been up for 18 hours. no wonder i feel great.
no, no wait, that's not right, i feel like a cold slice of death refusing to sizzle on a hot plate. and i think i smell bad too....
