ok, here's the deal, the fine print, the proverbial catch. you leave me a message, commment, email me, ask me a question, sing me a song, say hi, say you hate me, say whatever, and i will not respond in any way. not immediately in any event. But you must comment, about whatever, its in the contract. hell write a 100 word essay on whatever you did whenever you did it, and i still wont get back to you. but you must, it is imperative, that you, yes you, comment. your life may just depend on it...
so i'm packin gthe computer up tonight, i likely will not check my email or the "here" till after the 25th. officially offline as it were. cold turkey, ish. but pretend like i'm still checkin it all out, and that i'm not off having a grand ol time in L.A. and then flying to the not yet wintery northlands.
I'm leaving california, and all the beautiful people and all the evil history of this plodding place(this town is not fun). and i'm going far away to adventure and everything will be perfect on the other side of the rainbow. right, fuck that, i'm just done here...

'All I wanna do is have some fun
I've got a feeling I'm not the only one...'
I admire your ambition to 'have a little fun' and I like your conclusion that Paris is, ultimately, here for us to 'enjoy the living shit out of it'. How right you are, my friend!
And of course I will leave you a comment, how could I fail to repay your fidelity during my long absences wandering around Paris by neglecting you during your Alaskan installation?
I look forward to hearing details.
I know what it's like to be going cold turkey from SG, though, and to fear that people will forget you or not leave messages when you're not there... It's a constant pull on my mind while I have this insufficient internet access in Paris...
By the time you're back online, I could be heading for Australia. (I thought I'd slip this in in case you miss my latest journal entry) The University of Adelaide has invited to pay for me to fly out for a job interview and, fuck, who am I to turn down a free trip to Australia, even if it will be short and punishing...
I am about to get in touch with SG Australia to see if they have any members in Adelaide...
As someone once wrote on a New York subway train, and which remains one of the most beautiful things I've ever read...:
Old Times... New Times... The BIG Time!
