still looking for a job...but to be honest I am scared to leave the job I have. It is a fun job...not too hard and I get discounts on the things I buy all the time...car parts!! but it is a go-nowhere job....no real advancement and just dead ends.

I want to get a gov job but then I have to dress all nice...I wont be getting my hands dirty...and Id have to attend "office" parties all the time....Im not sure what to do. Be happy....or be smart?

Dooooug! Hunny-bun...I think you need to be practical, really. Is the pay good at the current job? I mean, I know how much it sucks to have to leave a job where you know the ins and outs like the back of your hand (DON'T turn that into a dirty joke, fool! lol) and the people are chill and the work environment as a whole is just rad. For me, the reason I left the art store was because I realized I had/have bills that HAVE GOT TO get paid. Currently, I am looking for a new job, of course depending on what they do for me (i.e. give me the assistant designer position they've been promising for the last year). But yeah, I have to say, where I am has built up some amazing skills, and honestly, it just makes me party harder and enjoy my free time SOO much more because I am leaving work at work. Y'know? Sorry if this isn't helpful at all, but one thing I have to say about the Gov. is that it is stability! It's benefits! And depending on what you go into, sometimes there is true satisfaction that what you are doing is meaningful in some regard. I don't want to seem like I am pushing you into anything that would make you unhappy (me likey your smile!), I am just trying to be an outside voice chiming in!
